Tetrogue 1.6 Released


This update introduces multiple rewards types after completing a level, with a new level select screen that lets the player choose their next challenge.

Changelog:

  • Add varying rewards after completing levels. Currently "Create" and "Destroy"
    • Create is the name for existing reward of adding 2 pieces to stash
    • Destroy reward lets the player remove a piece from the stash
  • After each level, the player can now choose the next level among  3 options. 
    • Levels are randomly generated with different score target, time limit, map, and reward type.
  • Added an option menu with volume sliders
  • Held block is now kept between levels
  • Added 7 new maps
  • Improve the look of some menus
  • Player now starts a run with only 1 of each standard piece

Destroying Pieces

After completing a level, the player might be asked to choose one piece to destroy. The choice will be the next piece in the stash, as indicated on the game screen when the player won, and the held piece, if any. This means the player may have to play strategically and ensure a bad piece is held before victory, so it can be destroyed after the level is completed.


Next Level Screen

Each level, the player can now choose 3 variants of the challenge ahead. Each of the 3 variants might have slightly different score targets, and time limits. They may each have a different map, though the blank map is still the most common. Most importantly, this lets the player choose their reward: Whether to create or destroy pieces in their stash.
